May: Glossybox

So today I got my first long awaited Glossybox in the post and thought I would do a review on it. Glossybox is a monthly beauty box full of little 5 samples and full sized products that gets sent to your door for you to check out. It's really a great way to try out products you haven't before, all for the price of £10 a month. The packaging is lovely as you can see above, comes in a pretty pink box that i'm definitely keeping to use for other things and beautiful pink paper. It actually comes delivered in another polka dot box to keep this one nice and safe.

You don't actually know what you're going to get in the box, so there's a huge element of surprise to it, but the stuff you get tends to be useful for beauty. The May box can still be ordered if you want one and you get this this adorable Alice in Wonderland themed tote bag for free with it! So you can actually take it out and use it because it's really really cute.

So my five handpicked items came and I basically got a dry foam shampoo (strange but revolutionary?), a cream to lessen hair growth and ingrown hairs, aloe vera moisturising gel, nail polish and lastly a blue double ended eyeshadow pencil. I have so far tried the aloe vera gel, and swatched the eyeshadow pencil but i'm going to talk about all products anyway so you have some idea how they work.

Okay so let's start of with the Towel Off Shampoo Foam. It's by a brand called Zerreau and is described as the next generation of dry shampoo. It has a really lovely delicate apple scent to it (you can also get it in strawberry!) and because of it's towel off formula you basically clean your hair without needing to wash it with water. So sort of like dry shampoo, but a lot better. You apply the foam to your scalp, massage it into your hair then towel dry your hair. Then there you have it, lovely soft and fresh hair. You can buy it here.
Now I haven't actually used it, but i've taken a whiff of it and it smells delicious so i'm really excited to try it out. I've read that it works great, especially for festival season, i'll review it properly once I used it.

Next up is the Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel. It's a really nice cooling gel for your skin when it needs a little tlc. Obviously has aloe vera which is great for the skin. I normally just use pure aloe vera so i'm really excited to see how this does for me. I did use it once, and it definitely made my skin feel really smooth when I woke up the next day so hopefully long term use will show bigger results. This is probably great for summer too when you've sat a little too long in the sun.

I also found what I consider to be the strangest thing in the lot for me, but could potentially be a game changer. SASS Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate is meant to be used for when you post-shave or wax. It promises to soothe the skin, reduce hair growth while the exfoliating ingredients (including salicylic acid and fruit enzymes) exfoliate the skin to make sure you don't get anymore ingrown hairs. I'm personally really excited to try this, anything that lessens hair growth is a big plus for me.

I received a really cute sample of the Nails Inc. Nail Polish in the colour Bruton Street. This was probably my least favourite for me mainly down to the colour. I'm not really a pink nails kind of girl so I think i'll be giving this sample a miss. However, the colour is really lovely, it's a dusty pink and a classic look that's perfect for any time of the day.

The last, and my personal favourite is the MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Dual Ended Eye Wand. Blue eyeshadow and eyeliner is just the summer must have for me. There are two shades, one is a slightly shimmery light blue and the other a dark sort of navy blue. It glides really smoothly onto the eyes and makes them pop! The only downfall which I think is common with all blue eye products is that it's really hard to remove completely. I have 2 eyeliner pens that are blue and I have the same problem with them as I do this. I use my Micellar water and eye makeup remover and it still leaves a slight tint.
